i personally frequently visit dodge sites, lightning sites, civic sites, xtreme sites. ive found over the years my knowledge base grows exponentially when i travel outside the boundries of my own brand. maybe you should try it, maybe you wouldnt sound so ignorant. and by the way: this site by far has the most dodge bashing on it than ANY site ive ever visited, and its usually 4.7 guys dogging the r/t's. ive never been on the nloc and seen the lightning boys talk crap to plain f150 owners... its like a childs playpen here.. everyones out to prove theyve got the biggest balls. its annoying

Hey Pete, I got a year and a half on my R/T before that I had a 89 dakota for about 2 years (no problems with the 89 accept for a water pump when I first got her, and since I have owned this R/t, I put about 30,000 on her w/50,000miles all together, I havent had any probs yet, accept for the paint oxidation).....I am also restoring a 63 Chrysler New yorker.....all MOPAR My Friend. Dont get me wrong.... I owned a few fords too....67'Mustang, 63'monteray, 91'taurus, 97'ranger.....I am not too much a fan of ford but the Mustang, and the monteray were pretty cool.
My whole deal is I come here to read about my truck and interact with DODGE enthusiast like myself, but in turn only here all this BS about fords.... bottom line is r/ts are in a different class than Ls, put the L's up to a reg cab hemi w/ a supercharger.......now thats more like it.... or compare it too the new SRT10 coming out....

People on this site just seem too extreme, too loyal, too proud. And when faced with a difficult adult arguement, most of you blow up with more foul language than a sailor and the only comprehendable statement in your post is "Mopar For Life." What does this say about Dodge owners? This all to often scenario gives me no choice but to put most of you in the same class as star trek nerds. You people blindly follow this company with absolute loyalty, no matter how much they screw you on warranty, no matter how much better or worse the competition is, and without regard to the quality of the product.
I drive a 98 Durango 4x4 with a 360. I think it is the absolute best MID-SIZE suv on the market. For the price, you cannot find a more loaded and better quality or more powerful SUV. There simply isn't one made. But I do not talk trash about how it is faster than a Z28 and roomier than an Excursion.
My point is this: It is okay to have pride and to show it, but be reasonable. Stock RTs are not outrunning new Z28s or pretty much any other sports car. Dodges have at least as many mechanical problems as the other two. And if someone said, here, you can have this new L or new Dak, you would choose the Lightning.

Just because it's faster doesn't mean someone will chose it over something they like better(for whatever reason). Heck, my neighbor purchased a new vette, but he could have purchased a new Viper(or any other vehicle for that matter; very rich). So, according to your theory, he should have purchase the faster vehicle which he doesn't like as much as the vette?
For the record the new Viper creamed the Z06 in every catagory in the MotorTrend shootout a few months ago.

I apologize if you have mistakenly taken me as ignorant. I incourage broadening your intelligence level. I am a Yacht Captain, and good Captains can never stop learning. However I made my point and this is a Dodge forum. It was an objective generalization of my observations that so many other brand owners post on this site. But it must be nice to have so much time on their hands. And I do agree that alot of all the posters are very young.

I think posts are all blending together for you. I try to make educated, enlightining posts, But I am a Sailor and I do have a foul mouth. Carry your asss is a Bahamian way of saying "if you don't like it, then move along and go somewhere else." As for the "Mopar for Life" statement it is simply the motto for the Mancini Racing Team and if this isn't the place to state it, Then I don't know where the proper forum would be. I agree with you about Dodge being the best value, which is why I stand behind Dodge, simple as that, no blind loyalty. However, personally I would rather have the R/T than the Lightning, with the extra money in my pocket, used for what mods I see fit, done by myself.

Yea Durango, I completely see what your saying I used to be a fan of the all the BIG 3, But after being in the car business for years, (new and used) I dont feel that way anymore. Holy Sh*t man, Fords ARE GARBAGE.. Sorry to say, but the truth hurts, GM is ok. too muck oil leaking though (among other things... They are ok though, Id never say DC has the greatest everything, but when it comes to trucks and dependability + styling. They are far ahead of the rest. They are the most copied American car company of all time, And thats all ford has done for 100 years. (Copy Dodge....

As a matter of fact My dad is 60 and is still in the business, and works at a Ford dealer, He went from Chrysler to Ford because hes in service. He now makes almost twice the income!! His first week a 3500 SuperPoopy Ford came in with a blown motor. 15K,... Its like one screw up after another and its putting money into his Mopar Pockets LOL!!
