Subject: 3.55's to 3.92's IP: Logged
Message: I recently went from 29 to 32 inch tires. I want to upgrade from 3.55 to 3.92 gear ratio to give me back some of the power I lost. Does anyone know if dealers do this or how much it might cost?

Message: the dealer will charge about $1200 per axle.
A good driveline shop will do the front and rear for about $800 before parts.
gears are about $500.
I just put 4.10's on my 4.7 and love them.
I am also running 32 inch tires.
All the gears are the same price so get the ones you really want.
My thought was for that much money I would rather have one step lower than the factory provides.
My milage actually improved city and highway.
good luck.

Message: Hey Chris2b,
Did you have to do a lift or anything in order to fit those 32's on.
What truck you driving and how wide are your tires. Really curious because Im ready to put some 32's on but not really wanting to do the body lift!

Message: I got my open 3.50 converted to a LSD 3.92 for a total of $900 with parts. New limited slip carrier, bearings, ring gear, pinion gear, and royal purple synthetic oil... and labor included.
