Check out the latest issue of Hot Rod. There's a good article on the benefits and shortcomings of a centrifugal schrgr vs. roots type schrgr vs. turbo. Lots of good information in that article that can help you make up your mind.

You can run 9psi on the Paxton just fine. Only problem is finding an octane for it.

I am in the same boat.

I am probably going to go Kenne Bell though. I like that it replaces my intake manifold, self lubed, and I know a guy who's installed one and ran 20K miles on his.

You'll get a nicer ET with the Paxton, but for everyday driving and the sheer fun of a roots blower, the Kenne Bell will make you much more happy during everyday driving.

I like the Paxton more for racing, but for everyday driving the Kenne Bell sounds like a lot of fun.

Kenne Bell is a twin screw, not a roots. Not the same thing.

Yeah yeah, minor technicality.

But the twin screw derived from the roots, so hah.

Thank you for the input! Maybe jump in next time and not just give a 7 word sentence about a small detail.

Between the my milled heads and new pistons, my 318 has about a 10:1 cr. What do superchargers like to be run on? If I need to, how can I lower the cr? Just use a thicker head gasket? Thanks

With a higher compression you'll be a bit more prone to detonation. 10.0 isn't too much higher, you might not get any. Then again, you may. Then you'd have to find a way to keep it from detonating.

You're going to have to put in bigger injectors with a supercharger anyway. Won't that take care of the detonation?

I have a kenne bell on my 2000 4.7 auto. I frigging love it!!!1 This kit is super clean, looks great sitting(in my opinion) where a supercharger should be, on top of the motor. The kit comes with everything!!! Full computer upgrades, a knck protection sytem, and two auxillary injectors. To run 10 psi you may want larger ones anyway though. I'm only funning the 6 pound pulley but will go with the 10 when i get everything beefed up. I had one problem with the MAP sensor but a re-routing of the vacum lines fixed that. The tourqe on this thing is really nice!!!!!!! Totally flat curve. There is an old post on here that Notchix posted my dyno sheet for me so maybe look it up. he's got the Paxton i beleive and happy with it. He does push more horses at the top end but the Kenne bell has FULL boost at 2000 rpm. Perfect for street use!!!!
Geez...... do ya think I'm happy???? heheh sorry for the long post. GO FOR THE KENNE .. my 20 cents.
