Subject: How loud is MBRP! IP: Logged
Message: I know that that is a relative question but I plan on putting my cuda style exhaust on tomorrow and was wondering if I should replace the 3rd cat with a straight pipe. I have heard somebodies mbrp from an old post but its hard to tell without hearing it in person. I just wont something to impress some of these flowmaster people. Thanks! Garon Cadby

Message: To be honest, those sound clips are pretty darn accurate for how your truck will sound. I wondered about that too but once I installed the system, it was just like the sound clips. Get the MBRP system, you will NOT be disappointed.

Message: I stayed away from the MBRP hype as there are certainly many other options.
I run a single 3" straight pipe from where the 3rd cat was (Till I removed it entirely) into a magnaflow muffler with dual 2 1/2" out.
Sounds absolutely Awesome!

Message: MBRP are full stainless steel welded flow through mufflers that sound damn good. What more could you ask for from a muffler? It holds up to any heat you can give it (13B Rotary) and the case is strong as hell. The fact the muffler is a well built muffler-- by hand, by some Ski-Doo/Truck hicks in Canada -- that will outlast probably all other muffler on the market is enough of a reason to get one.
The MBRP is really mellow in stock form. A nice rumble to it and gets mean in upper RPM. However, once you rip the third cat out, you'll never go back. The MBRP's sound really wakes up. A full muscle car roar from the truck. You will like.

Message: Thanks,That is what I wanted to know. I actually just got everything bolted up. I have a little tweaking to do, one of my tips sticks out farther then the other one and I know I will have some leaks. I did manage to start it up and you are right about the sound. Great tone/sound but I want it a little louder. I think I will replace the 3rd cat with a straight pipe. How did you go about doing that? I am guesing you cut it looks like it is welded on. I'm guessing you cut it with something? Do you think a muffler shop will do it? I do not seem to have any tools. Thanks
