Subject: Drove a Viper RT 10 IP: Logged
Message: My buddy graduated from college w/ his engineering degree this and his wife (with my help,he-he) surprised him with a 3-day rental ($1,400.00)of a sweet yellow RT 10. First, the seats felt like I was part of the car. The pedals were very close and took a little getting used to. I'm 6'3" and have a size 13 shoe. I was reading the next day that the pedals are adjustable. I was taking circular on and off ramps at 70. I used to have a Z-28 that had a Herb-Adams suspension build-up that pulled a full G. The suspension on the Viper made that feel sloppy. That car could do 145 mph and I really wanted to take the Viper up to it's 160 mph. I had at almost 150 on the N.E. Extension (81), Pennsylvania but had to bring it down because of traffic. The shifting was so smooth. Those first 3 gears are awesome. It was wrong to beat on it but I had to rip it off the line a couple times in the industrial park near my house. I only drove it for a couple of hours. Wish I could have found a good race. The RT feels so slow now. Sob.

Message: Thats my dream car...*sigh* glad your one of the lucky ones who've gotten to drive one...its still good that Vipers are still rare and turn heads. Corvettes are becoming like Mustangs, you see them everywhere now. When you see a Viper everyone's head is turning to see it, they're still the ultimate sports car.

Message: I have a friend whos dad is a mopar freak and is very rich. He has a viper and a 71 hemi cuda convertable. I have driven both, the viper is a way more performance capable machine, but there has been no feeling in the world like driving that hemi. Message: I can already feel the flames comin' but I could've bought 80% of the turbo setup if not more that would make my 4.7 5 spd CC f$%kin leave a Viper behind.

Message: I tried out the Viper before but couldn't work the clutch without sticking my knee into my throat. I am also 6'3" and have a size 13 shoe. That was a few years ago. Have they made them more accomodating?
