Subject: An odd question about K&N IP: Logged
Message: i just installed my K&N FIPK and i can feel the difference, only thing is i did not install the heat shield. The reason i did this is because i have a stupid helix throttle body spacer ( i did not buy it, it came with the truck) now my question is do i need that heat shield?

Message: You don't need it for the truck to operate fine, but it does help when you have it on...

Message: so it actually helps with performance? the problem is ill have to modify it so the tube actually fits properly, right now it is to high because of the spacer.

Message: Get rid of the spacer they do absolutly nothing for you, and install the heat shield. It will help the intake tube from becoming heat soaked.
