Subject: Powerdyne??? IP: Logged
Message: Can anyone tell me why the powerdyne supercharger kits for 96-99 5.9s are about 600 bucks cheaper than the 00-01 kits? Will a 99 kit work on my 02 R/T? I didn't think a 99 R/T was that much different than my 02. Someone please explain.

Message: One thing thats different is the harmonic balancer [ crank pulley ] so the bolt on pulley for the 99 kit won't work on yours, don't know if anything else is different- call powerdyne and ask?

Message: The Powerdyne kit doesn't have a bolt on pulley for the blower. The blower is driven off the ass. belt. I believe the newer kits come with a Boost Timing Control, but I don't know for sure. You will want to buy one if it isn't included. HTH.

Message: I love mine. I haven't had any of the problems other people have had. I don't know if I have a factory freak truck or I have just been lucky. I would definitely do it again. The only thing I would do different is change the intake manifold (M-1) before adding the blower. There are better Blowers and Blower kits out, but most cost twice as much as my Powerdyne did. You can e-mail me if you want more information
