Message: I have heard for years that people have mixed ATF into diesel fuel --- insisting that only Type F ATF is the one to use. While ATF Type F might increase lubricity in diesel fuel, I would strongly recommend against its use. ATF's have many of the same additives found in engine oil, which may cause deposit build-up on plugs, valves, and combustion chambers when these components are burned with the fuel. If this guy is adding it to gasoline, --- I must say … I've never heard of anyone mixing ATF into gasoline until now.
Don't do it.
ATF is not intended to be burned, and it won't burn as cleanly as you wish. For those who REALLY can't stop themselves from adding an oil product to their fuel, use 2-cycle oil. It's made to burn cleanly, … and a much better idea is to buy a diesel or gasoline fuel additive.
