Subject: computer IP: Logged
Message: I am new to computer controled cars or in this case truck. What do I need or is it possible to conect a laptop to truck to get info to work or adjust modules, or can this only be done with larger shop instruments. Truck is 2002 4.7. Is this possible? thanks for any help I live in Wa. State have race big block mopars for 30 years and I enjoy my truck and race would like to improve performance without spending a lot since this is my wifes daily driver.

Message: I use both autotap & car codes OBD-2 products.
www.autotap.com & www.obd-2.com
It's a hardware interface and software that connects to the obd-II port on the vehicle.
With it you can monitor and log all the vehicles engine data. Neither product can program the ECU !
I have had problems with the autotap hardware and support so purchased the OBD-2. The autotap has superior software, but the OBD-2 hasnt given me any problems.
