The guy had better than a 35% driveline loss. What a piece of crap. Losing over a third of the engines power to the wheels sucks no matter how you look at it. Even if he was in AWD.

Hrmm.

*I turn to see this mean looking caravan with a bike rack on the back*

*I can see the shadows of 6 children bouncing all over the place ready to go to soccer practice*

*so I gave them a little rev*

It isn't a true Dynojet remember, so it would be a little more. Still though, even if it got 120, that's slow as hell for something that probably weighs over 3500 pounds unloaded.

What are you supposed to tow with that?

Oh my God, that has to be one of the most retardedly funny things I've ever read. This is a portion of the Element guy's post:

"The first run wasn't anything special. The tech had to get used to the shift points of the Element's automatic. By the second pull, the K24's intake (yes, intake) manifold was baking hot. I get a reading:

97.4 hp @ 5450 rpm
99.4 lb-ft @ 3950 rpm

Just a fluke, I thought. I have 160hp at the flywheel. We let the Element cool down for around 45 minutes or so, and we made a final, beautiful looking run.

100.3 hp @ 5700 rpm
103.5 lb-ft @ 3950 rpm"

WOW! The second, BEAUTIFUL looking run gained 3 hp and 4 lb ft. of torque! He'd better watch out when he drives that beast! That can't be street legal!

I also love the part where he describes the intake (yes, intake) manifold like it is some mythical and mysterious component.

I've seen a few Elements toodling around, and it's almost hard to believe that a well known car manufacturer would produce something like that. Doesn't anyone remember the Pontiac Aztek? The other thing with the Element is that it doesn't have a B-pillar (to make that wide open passenger cabin); I hate to think what the crash tests are going to be like. God help whoever is unfortunate enough to be near the doors in a crash. Yikes!

I have 30% drivetrain loss...a whopping
164HP at the wheels. the only thing those
elements have going for them is the fact that
they look clean dropped on 18's. some guy
has one around here, but way overpriced and
dog slow.

its all about the milk truck look. love the new
Scion XB but dog slow aswell.

An uppie, downpipe, and piped 3" after the turbo combined with a $5 Home Depot boost controller set to around 17 lbs will fix that ya know :)
