I was wondering if anyone has ported their stock tb on the 5.2l engine? What did it gain you? I have a 97 with a k&n intake and dual cat back exhaust. Is it worth the effort to do this?

I ported my 97 5.2 TB. Gave a little more power, but sure was messy to do. Just buy a 50mm FastMan. They look so much prettier too!

Did you use the tried and true Dremel method or did you use something else?

I would love to get a Fastman but $$ are running low. Gotta go ghetto and do it myself.

I havn't ported the throttle body on my truck yet, but I did my 1990 RX-7 13b last weekend. That car's was bad. I removed a double throttle, lips, flat faces, and smoothed some curves. It gave me a very nice increase in throttle response. Higher RPM feels better, but it also needed to be cleaned and the WOT blade setting needed to be adjusted.

I think it's well worth it. I mean, it doesn't cost but a couple sanding drums and carb cleaner. I plan on doing mine this weekend. I say give it a shot.

You wont mess up unless you do something completely horrible and destory your butterflys. It's a nice cheap mod that makes your vehicle more fun to drive than anything.
