Subject: Headers or throttle body? IP: Logged
Message: Ok so I have some money burning a whole in my pocket. If you had the choice would you put headers or a larger throttle body on next? I already have a cold air intake, MP computer, gibson exhaust, relocated IAT...I'm building up to a super charger but that is in the far furture. BTW this is on a 98 5.2 2wd Thanks for your input

Message: I noticed more power when I did headers than when I got my Quick D 51.75 TB.
Pulled harder in the midrange with headers.
See what others have to say before you make a decision.

Message: Go with the throttle body first. You will feel a big gain in low end and responce. I put PPH headers on after all the mods you listed plus the TB and did not feel much of a difference, plus they're alot of work if you decide on replacing the stock 1 7/8" head pipes. not to mention $$$
After you put on the TB (F&B or Fastman or Hughes are all good) next step is Harland Sharp 1.7 roller rockers. They are a bolt in deal.
just my 2 cents. I've gone down the same road as you, hope that saves you some $$$

Message: Headers and full performance exh sys is best start. Then the Hughes or MP int and TB.If you run the airflow #'s you will see that the Int Man quits way before the TB airflo is a problem.

Message: On a 318 go with the headers, you have the same throttle body as a 360 and would not see the increase in performance that a 360 would with the TB swap.
