Subject: relocating IAT sensor ?
IP: Logged

Message:
When you remove the IAT sensor and relocate it on the 4.7, is it better to use a metal or plastic plug to seal up the old mounting location? Is the IAT sensor in the plastic manifold stock? Thanks,

IAT location onthe 4.7 depends on the year. On my 200 it was in the manifold. On my '03 it was in the tintake, on my wife's 02 jeep it is in the manifold...

And plastic or metal plug does not matter. You can order the one (for the 01+ style clip in sensor) by getting the plug one for the '03 manifold.

The 2000 had a 1/4" NPT fitting on it but at the time my '01 HO intake had the newer style..

I relocated mine on my 2001 from my manifold to my
360airintakez and have not noticed any difference.
Allthough i just did it last night. All i did was order another
sensor from my dealer for $7.00 then drilled a hole in my
intake and mounted it with high heat silicon. I had to
extend my factory wire harness to reach it though.

2001 Durango 4.7 4x4.
360airintake, HO cams, 180 stat, IAT,
