Subject: New Brakes?

Message:
I have a 99 3.9 auto. I have hd the truck for almost 2 years and don't recall my dad or I changing the brakes. Now I hear a metallic grinding noise from my ront brakes when i step on them and when I don't step at them at all but when I accerlate. The sound is coming from the same area from where it comes from when I brake. Time for new brakes you think?

The sound is likely from the studs behind the brake pads (which are probably non-existent) grinding into the rotor. The idiot-proof way to tell is just to look at the rotor; if there are grooves scored into the face, it's time to fix your brakes. Your rotors will most likely need to be turned or replaced as well.
