Message: hey guys, ive read on some other posts that lakewood traction bars are a nice, inexpensive alternative to buying the cal-trac brand traction bars. my question is how easy are they to install? any special tools required? and do they help on tire wear at all? i have the same problem that all R/Ts have with body roll, when going around a corner at just about any speed, the inside tire wants to spin and its killing the life of my tires. im fixing to buy a set of the Nitto 450s (275/50/17) and this info would really help.

Message: Just use leaf spring clamps instead. Put the clamps on behind the axle. They cost $10 at autozone and work the same as traction bars. You can adjust the stiffness by mounting them closer or farther from the axle. I put them on my dak and it was a night and day difference. Now when I put the pedal to the medal off the line it just chirps then launches. Before I would just spin the tires through the whole intersection.

Message: I've had lakewoods for a while now. Easy to install about 20 mins. Looks nice too but kills ground clearance. I don't even try to make a curb in my truck and you have to watch off roading carefully. Other than that I like them!
