Subject: PCM FLASH IP: Logged
Message: I have a 00 4.7 Quad (recent purchase). Had it to the dealer for the stalling/inconsistent idle flash. With some discussion they finally flashed it. They did not reset the PCM after the flash! Should they have? If yes then I will do it tonight. Thanks

Message: what they did, is back off some timing, hence less or no predetonation, hence, YOU JUST LOST ABOUT 10-15 hp!

Message: No, you have to get it reflashed by someone other than the dealer.

Message: Is that because the dealer only has the most recent flash or they refuse to undo it?
Reflashed by others? Would that mean people like Kenne Bell, KRC Mike Leach etc?

Message: Stopped by the dealer today. Talked to the service manager who called DC Canada and told me the flash can not be undone or reinstall the original program. That sucks!
As I am in Canada does anyone know of a programmer here who can flash my PCM? The down time would be too long to send my PCM to the states and I dont want all the hassles of the border.
As a side note does anyone here in Canada(Toronto area) have a used PCM for sale for a 2000 5 spd without any flash? That way I could send it out to be flashed.
Thanks

Message: Can B&G do a stock flash? If so is the price better than $600.00 USD?
Does anyone have their e-mail address ans who to contact?

Message: I think the program that was overwritten is one of those that DC obsoleted. That's probably why the dealers can't retrieve it for you. Normally the DRB-III is programmed only to uprev and they couldn't go back even if they wanted to. Getting your "stock" program back would likely bring those same issues back with it(reason for it being obsoleted).
If you want to contact me offline, I'll see what I can do for you: bob@coralfarms.com

| timing adjuster ? IP: Logged
Message: i have a 02 dakota reg. cab shortbed 4.7L 5spd and once heard about a tps or something of the sort that can be used to adjust the timing on the new ,"r/t eating", 4.7. p.s. if you have ever owned or driven a truck identical to mine you would sell that r/t and finally get out of the 16s. i ran a 14.65 @93mph with stock tires, cat-back exhaust and no mechanical fan. that is still faster than a r/t with a supercharger. wow time to sell that overpriced piece. any help would be appreciated on the "timing adjuster". thanks.

Message: I want my stock PCM program back!!!!! They stole 15 hp from me and my truck still idles like crap. Six trips to two different dealerships; numerous calls to DCX. Consensus is -- truck is fine ... it's supposed to idle like crap. Fine -- but can't they at least make it idle like crap AND give me my 15 hp back? When are we going to see a programmer for the 4.7?
