I have the KRC 206X with the M-1 intake and mopar headers. The cam is bad to the bone and has a healthly sound at idle. It lost a little low end but not too much. Don't go too wild on the cam with the 318 or lack of low end torque will become a problem. Get the crower rockers, they look much better than the mp rockers. If you get a cam you probably will be better off with the 1.6 rockers instead of the 1.7's.

My 2 cents....

I heard form several people if you stay with stock cams, get the 1.7's and if you get an agressive aftermarket cam, stay with 1.6's.

Do you have a 318, if so did you do heads at the same time as the cam? I want a different cam also in my R/T but don't have the $$$ for heads right now. I was thinking about the KRC206X also, did you notice big gains or what? Any help would be appreciated.

02 R/T, I used the stock heads and pocket ported them. I used the D/C springs and retainers (cost me 140 for the pair) The cam is Bad to the bone!! Best mod I've done so far. Before the motor would wimp out at about 4000-4500 even with the M-1 but now it pulls HARD all the way to 5500 plus. Big difference in mid-upper rpm torque with some loss of low end but not much. The cam idles with a slight "quiver" and the exhaust note is really sweet. It idles fine with the air on and driveability is very good also. It would idle even better in the 5.9 and the torque would be much better.
Hope that helps....

Thanks for the relpy man. That helps. What did it run ya to get the stock heads ported? Did you install the cam yourself and what rpm does the power really come on? Sorry for all the questions. Just wanna get the facts before I rip apart my motor.

I did it all myself, bought the carbide burrs for $40 and it took me about 4 hours to do both heads. I did the cam myself, (I'm an old racer from the 70's) it wasn't too bad. The power seems to really start coming on about 2800 and from 3500 up it pulls like crazy. I wish I could put a sound byte up on the net so you could hear how sweet the idle sounds! I get a lot of attention at the local drive ins!!

Depends on what state you are in-- most the RT-1 cam will pass, the RT-2 won't (especially in CA.)

1.7 Crowers are 50 states smog legal...

Yes, you can just use the rockers. They are a nice up-grade over the stock ones.

They are a Mopar Performance item, so they will not void your warranty. The gains are usually said to be worth 10-15 hp, due to less friction and a more accurate ratio on each rocker.
