I am currently running a 97 CC 4wd with a 5.2, intense performance stage III, 180 t'stat, gibson cat back single 3", relocated IAT, autolites, Redline synthetics, anco windshield wipers...(just kidding!) I am looking to purchase a new throttlebody soon, I will also be adding a M-1 (2 barrel), 1.7 roller rockers, Power programmer, MAYBE some r/t heads. Which throttle body should I go for the 50 or 52mm? How about headers? are they worth it? I need a stainless y-pipe (crossover) that will work with my 4WD. Anybody heard of one that'll work?

5.2L = stick with a 50mm TB. PPH headers work good on the 4x4 and fit fine. You might want to stick with the BB intake if you like your low end, especially if you have 3.55 gearing. The 1.7s will work great from 3000 rpm and up... even on the BB intake.

If you think of doing RT heads, 1.92s are plenty-- and a short cam.

I do out...

I sell all of it.

Thanks for the info. How about...

a stainless steel crossover (y-pipe) that'll work on a 5.2 4WD CC? Anyone know of one? Seems pointless to change to headers if the y-pipe remains the same... And it must be stainless!

The Mopar/PPH headers come with a new y-pipe. Think of it as a cat forward system. Why must it be Stainless?? You can get the header/y-pipe in either crhomed, or ceramichromed.

The PPH headers include the Y pipe-- and ceramic coating is the best way to go.. stainless won't last longer than ceramic coating.

still prefer stainless

I am currently in Maryland and will be relocating in a couple of years back to Hawaii. I take my truck to the beach alot (surfer) and it is exposed to constant salt air. I think I should stick to stainless. I am afraid any chipped part of the pipe will instantly become rust. I have a Harley and it's hard to keep chrome plating from pitting/rusting in Hawaii.

The ceramichrome(ceramic) coating is very durable and will not rust. It taks a lot to make the coating come off.

The ceramic coating has a lifetime warranty, and even it were to come off (not likely), the headers themselves have a lifetime warranty against cracking/corrosion.

The stainless will give up the ghost well before the ceramic coating. 13 months on my setup-- still look new.

Stainless can still rust. Even high quality marine stainless parts will rust when exposed to the elements.

I just put some of the ceramic coated headers on my Dakota. Believe me the coating is tough!! We had to grind some off to get the pipes to slip together and it was like grinding hardfaced metal. My sandblaster would not even remove it. I'm sold!! I don't see how it would ever get rusted up in our lifetimes!!
