 Subject: Im Stumped?

I bought a CC '99 R/T and expected to be able to roast off the tores from a dead start, with 345 lbs of torque shouldnt it? I mean its pretty fast but maybe im getting a wrong impression of the truck. Is it sippose to be able to roast the tires, cause I can barley get a 3-4 second burnout?????????????? Does she need to be opened up? any inexpensive mods??

Give me some info here, i have a 5.9 I should be more than able to toast the tores off this...why is it barley pulling 3 second burnouts?

It's summer and its hot maybe that could be the problem. Hot air no good plus running the air conditioning just kills the truck. Not like it was a few months ago with freezing cold air.

i dont know whats wrong with you guys coming here whining about 3 second burnouts. there seems to be a lot of you lately. i NEVER had a problem striping an intersection. i think the 4.7 guys play jokes on some of us 'less observant' r/t'ers and put bricks UNDER our gas pedals lol...

Just use the brake a lil. stomp both the brake and gas at the same time but as soon as you do that let off the brake ! I get a good 5 seconds by doin that!
Or you could put some motorcycle tires on her!

Some guys woudl love to not be able to spin the tires. If you are spinnign the tires, you are not moving very fast, and will lose the race. You want ot spin your tires, go buy some 15x6 rims throw some 185 series tires on them and have fun.

I would be glad to change Problems with you. I have serious traction issues. I was at Pueblo Motor Speedway last friday night, and on the stock 255/65R16's and a new Trac Lok installed, I'm barely down to 2.45 second 60's. And as I go down the track, I can see the signature of my 2nd and 3rd gear shifts (and the 3rd gear shifts are still leaving a pair of 10' marks). Count your blessings and move on with modding it till you are in the same boat I'm in.

2.2 seconds for 60 footers and still need traction even with almost off idle take offs!

Colorado Springs, it sucks for performance. I had a rental car and I was flooring it every where just to get it to go :) Pikes Peak was cool.

you know i had a stock 4.7 quad cab blow me away the other day on the interstate...we were both goin about 65 and both of us floored it and he left 100ft black marks on the pavement as i sat and watched him pull away...those 4.7's are fierce man u gotta watch out for them...why would dodge put their strongest motor in their highest performance factory truck?...i dont see why...
