Subject: No Cat = check engine light on?
IP: Logged

Message:
I was thinking about removing my catalytis converter from my truck. I already have a Cat-Back exhaust system but it wasnt loud enough for me. If i was to take off my cat, would the check engine light come on? Would that be a bad idea to do that? thanks in advance...

no problem.. hack that mother off there!!! you shouldnt throw a light if you leave the rear o2 in place (i didnt have a light) i took my o2 out and then it popped the light. some people tie it to the frame (it just has to be grounded).. some people put on an o2 sim. i did the simm, because its a cleaner install than having the o2 dangle there. depends on your pocket book, theyre $78 shipped. not much, but some people would rather ghetto rig and save some pocket change.
