Hey man, my hat goes off to you, trying something new even though people say it doesn't work. I say go for the 6 speed viper tranny, u may as well go all out. And that would be bad ass, a 345hp dak with a 6 speed manual tranny. Totally go for it

Coming from the four cylinder DAK owner, I say go all out. I too, have had the dream of a hemi in my truck. However it was the 426, not the 5.7. It still gives me wet dreams though.

why wont a 5.7 hemi fit in a dakota i have a 97 dak with a 5.7 magnum in it and the r/t has a 5.9 litre so exactly how do you figure a hemi wont fit? and to speak honestly from my experience going back old school days of dragging on the streets of chicago ive seen chevettes with 454's and monzas with 502's lol dont tell me an engine wont fit lol enough beer and a torch anything can "fit" into any vehicle

Yeah WTF, I was gettin all excited and stuff when I read that post last year. Maybe it was just some punk who was just talkin outta his ass for shats and giggles.I hope they make a hemi dakota for the new model. Maybe Dodge will make a special srt dakota with the hemi in 2006. If they don't then I'll take wrecked hemi durango and take the motor out and make it work in the 2005 dakota. I'll call it the hemikota. Aw hell I probably won't
