Subject: K&N Drop in Filter IP: Logged
Message: hey guys I just got some birthday money and my truck needs an new air filter should I buy a k&n drop in or just wait till I can afford a whole CAI. The guy at the store said a drop in would be just as good and those systems by K&N are overpriced. I have a 5.2 V8. Should I get one. What about a home brew. What makes them better then regular air filters.

Message: I didn't notice any perf or gas mileage difference with the drop in. But I'm sure it can't hurt to be getting a little more air flow.

Message: CAI's are garbage. K&N filter probably is too but what the hell, it's only $50.
