Josh, this is me. If I had a choice in the 2 at the same price, I would go for the one that looks like a performance upgrade, the F&B. I mean , even if they flowed the same, (which they don't) I would go with the Billet Aluminum one. Half of my Mods are about asthetics anyway. Really, you think people would by a discolored, S/C for the same price as a Highly Polished, S/C, Uh, I doubt it. Which ever way you choose to ship your F&B, Good Luck.

F&B, hands down. Best flow, best power, best looks (if that's your goal), no core charge.

I wouldn't worry about the refurb part at all. Probably just a trade-in. And the F&B 50mm does outflow the Fastman 52mm. Just make sure the TB is the correct one for your year. 92-95 is different than '96 and up and they are not interchangeable.

I have the fastman and it performs quite well...alot of ppl think that by going with this brand new polished billet piece you are adding some serious flow...to me it's just a prettier more expensive route. I chose the fastman ,and believe me a got a great deal on it, because i knew there were better things to spend the extra money on..that would not only work with the bigger throttlebody..but were needed far more the some "tricked" out air valve. This is just my opinion by the way..i am sure there are alot of happy F&B owners out there...but i also know there are alot of overpriced parts trying to be sold to naive ppl. I will put my truck with it's modest and less expensive mods against a comparable truck with the overpriced parts any day

F&B outperforms all of them.

Thats not a flow chart. Thats a dyno which any number of things could effect the numbers. F&B coulda been dynoed in the morning and the Fastman in the afternoon when it was hotter. I thought F&B "outflows" the Fastman. I was hoping to see CFM ratings.
Yeah , I maybe partial towards Fastman since I have his TB and hes done work on my truck. I`m just sick of hearing the word "outflows" and people are buying into that BS. Why dont people just say F&B made 3 more HP than Fastman ? Thats really the truth on that DYNO test , aint it ?

I just cant see how more air can go through a 50mm hole vs. a 52mm.

Here's are some F&B flow numbers. They are from Bruce Bridges, but I have no reason to doubt their accuracy.

http://www.flometrics.com/TBpictures.html

I'd love to see some flow numbers on Fastman throttle bodies. Nothing against the Fastman. Dan does good work. I feel Bruce's product is better and Dan's is limited by the stock TB's that he has to start with. Take Scott Quaranta. He's got a Fastman 408 that was featured in Truckin magazine, big spread. Scott is running an F&B throttle body on his Fastman motor.

well if you can get the F&B for the same price then by all means go for it..but i can not see the spending the extra money on a brand new one for 3 hp. Like i said before there are ALOT of better places in and on the motor to spend the extra money...just my opinion though

You can get an F&B for $400 (less on a good group buy). Sell your stocker for $100, and net out at $300. The Fastman will run you $250 (again, maybe less on a good group buy). So, all things being equal, the F&B will cost you around $50 more than the Fastman. If you want to talk 3hp, that works out to about $17 per 1 hp.

Your typical blower will cost you about $40 for each 1 hp. Rockers will cost you about $30 for 1 hp. And there is a heck of a lot more work on the install then there is on a throttle body.

And when you are talking about trucks that cost thousands of dollars, I figure it's worth an extra $50 to get the best.

well all i am saying..is any extra money in my pocket for other mods that can boost the effects of the throttlebody more then offsets 3hp. Again i will put my budget modded truck against any comparable truck with the high priced pieces on it. To me it's what you by and what you are using it in conjunction with . you can't figure out dollars per horse until you know what kind of combinations you can come up with based on similar prices. sometimes you have to think step or two down the road..but if all you are going to put on is the throttlebody..then by all means blow the extra $50 on the the 3hp.

And all I'm saying is don't spend a lot of money on your truck and then cheap out on the mods. It's like building a 408 and then running Wal-Mart brand oil in it to save money.

yeah but you make it seem like the fastman is from wal-mart...it's still a quality piece..just 3hp away from being perfection i guess. It's not like i am saying to throw a junkyard throttlebody on the truck. i know alot of ppl spend a little too much money in the wrong areas on these trucks..i am just trying to help out those who are on a budget...the fastman may be cheaper..but it is not a "cheap" or piece of junk throttlebody. My truck will be at the chrysler classic at MILAN Dragway this year if anybody wants to see my performance on a low budget.

Okay, truce. Saving a buck is definitely important. I couldn't afford to do half the stuff I've done on my trucks if I didn't look for deals. I try to identify the best thing possible in a given application, and then get it as cheap as I can. Where's Milan dragway?

Please don't think i was trying to be rude or negative about your posts..just trying to give options to ppl..and a little help.In the end i think we both agree on the best bang for the buck!! Milan dragway is located in southeastern Michigan..45 min. south of Detroit.

Having used both the Fastman 52MM and currnelty the F&B 50MM, I can tell you the F&B feels a lot better for driveability than the Fastman, and this is on my n/a with 2.02 R/T heads/cam/2bbl M1/headers/gutted cat/ Mopar PCM motor.
