Subject: Change rear gear ratio - V6 IP: Logged
Message: Since I am having so much done to my truck....I asked around and was told for the money...the absolute best way to get some performance is to change my stock gear ratio.
I havn't a clue what mine is right now...but it's a V6 CC 99 2WD....I don't believe I have limited slip.
How would I have the rear end work done? Is there a kit, or do I just have the shop do the work. What ratio do I go with??
I've joked that I wished I had a 'posi' rear end...in which both tires tun instead of simply my right rear tire. I assume that is a big job and has disadvantages....but heck...while the shop is there is this somehting to consider?
As always, your responses are appreciated.
TIA
Kevin

Message: It would be safe to say that your rearend is a 3.55. You can check that by looking at the sticker on the inside of your glovebox. I would say go either 3.91's or 4.10's. If you dont do alot of long distence driving deffinitely go 4.10's. I sell them on my website check it out.
