Subject: 3.9L Ignition System

Message:
I have a 1997 Dakota with a 3.9L V6 in it. I'm about to buy some ignition parts for it and I would like some advice. This is what I was going to get:

MSD 6A
MSD Blaster SS Coil
Universal Wireing Harness
MSD Super Conductor Wires

Borg Warner Cap & Rotor

Autolite 3923 Plugs (gapped at .045?)

Is this the best I can do? Or should I buy something else for each category? I was especially wondering about the MSD Blaster SS Coil?

Thanks for the help.

Everything looks good. Contact MSD on the 6A though...they have an "Odd-Fire" version for our
V6's. (The 6200 works just fine though.)

On the Blaster-SS, you will need to find a spot to install is (drilling required). I had mounted mine on the passenger fender.

Bernd-

What kind of set up do you have for intake? Do you have to take yours off every two years for smog. I have the Airaid Intake for our 3.9L and it has to be taken off for smog. If I mount the Blaster coil onto the passenger how am I going to get the original air box on for smog?

Also what gap do you think I should use? .045? less or more? What does MSD recommend?
