 Subject: R/T shifting problems

I have a 99 rc r/t that unfortunately sustained a hit and run impact on the front passengers side. She is put back together, but now my transmission will drop out of 4th into 3rd as soon as I take my foot off the pedal to slow down after driving at speeds of 65 or so for a few miles. After this occurs I have to stay hard on the throttle to get it to shift back into 4th. If I shut the truck off for awhile or reset the computer the problem disappears until I drive on the interstate again. I need help so that Insurance of the hit and run drunk bastard will pay for the damages.
