Subject: QC 4.7 1/4 times with N2O Opinions?
IP: Logged

Message:
I have a 01 4.7 QC auto. mods: 3" Z-Tube, moved IAT, removed clutch fan, 4.10 gears w/LSD (tires are 27" tall, so it makes them like 4.42's), Lakewood traction bars, and NX 75 shot kit. What 1/8 and 1/4 times will I be running with this setup? Then, what would I be running if I added HO cams and HO intake w/ 28x10 MT slicks?

Ew Boy I love guessing games...

I'd say with your current mods...On the spray, Somewhere in the 14.40-14.60 range at 90-92mph. (depending on elevation)

HO Cams, HO intake, slicks, 72MM TB, and a 100shot....high-mid 13's...

Not sure what youl run but as far as I know gear ratios are based on a 26 inch tall tire wich would bring your 4:10s down to a 3:9somthing

In my QC I have HO cams, CAI, 70mm F&B TB, gutted 3rd cat, and a Ravin muffler, 3.90 gears (w/255/50/17 tires gearing is about 4.21). I have run a best of 15.80. I would think that you would be a lot faster than I am.

Why would it be 26", my stock tires were 28", At 75mph I'm at 2800rpm. I also forgot to say that I have headers, exhaust removed the 3rd cat and ported throttle body.

If you run a different tire size, it throws off your speedo. See if you're dealer can reprogram for the new tire size. That's the only way I know of to fix that speed vs. engine RPM thing. I just had it done to mine. Swapped from the 255/65/16's to 255/50/17's. I think that's the answer to what you were talking about. Check out this link... for tire size equations http://www.dakota-truck.net/TIRECALC/tirecalc.html

I'd say 14.5 with your current setup. The HO cams and intake'll take off about 4 tenths, and the slicks .5 minimum.Low to mid 13s.
