Subject: Which First, headers or exhaust? IP: Logged
Message: I am eventually going to install both headers and a new exhaust (cat-back) on my 97 V6, 4x4. Which should I do first? Does it matter? I can only afford one at time.

Message: Go with the exhaust first. Looks better, sounds better, and with no or little mods it will be your best HP increase over headers. Hope that helps.

Message: Exhaust.... why open up the exhaust manifolds, just to flow into a restrictive exhaust?
The best move? Save the exhaust money and put a down payment on a 4.7L

Message: headers, because if you build your exhaust system, and then buy the headers, the headers might not fit the exhaust, so you would have to do it again...your best bet is to save up and get them at the same time
