Subject: A new Continuously Variable Valve Actuat IP: Logged
Message: At www.pattakon.com a new Continuously Variable Valve Actuation system is presented, with working prototype photos, plots and animations (even STEREOSCOPIC ones).
Any engine, racing or normal, can be improved as the torque can be about constant from very low revs to the top allowable revs of the engine.
Comments? Objections?

I had thought about doing something like that a few years ago.
I thought it would be nice to have valves that would be actuated by some kind of motor instead of a cam and controlled by a computer, then you could program different profiles for different situations.
You could set it for economy on a long highway trip or normal street driving then set it for performance if you were at the track or wanted to smoke someone at a stop light.
Of course, it never went any further than an idea.
