Message: I have a 1994 Dakota with the stock 3.9. Will any newer (including Gen III) 3.9 work as long as I retain the 94 electrical system on the engine?
Message: I doubt it. The dealer would know for sure. I have a Gen I Dakota, and if put in a Gen II or newer, the entire engine swap would include new computer wiring, new computer, and the whole shibang. Quite a project if you ask me!
