Subject: HELP SOON? IP: Logged
Message: 98 5.2 RC With tons of mods.
I got a new cap and rotor, and some new plug wires and plugs. I also picked up a compression tester. I started getting Multiple Missfires again, and so I wanted to replace everything to make sure it was fixed. Well, I pulled all the plug wires and plugs, and the fuel pump relay circuit and ran my compression test on all cylinders and avererage out from 160 to 180 all the way around. This was good. I finished up with the new cap and rotor, put im the new plugs and wires. I go to start it, and it just turns over and over, but won't start. WTF happened? I did pull the camshaft position sensor out, and looked at, but I put it back just like it came out. I checked all the fuses, and they seem to be ok. I checked the coil and the connections from the PCM to the camshaft position sensor and the crank position sensor, and they are both good. The only thing I could not figure out is what the Automatic Shutdown relay thuing is. Could this be causing my issues. It sounds and smells like it is getting fuel. I can here the pump, but nothing.
HELP WOULD MUCH APPRECIATED.........
Thanks,
FROG

Message: Thanks Eric,
Just got the post right after I found out the SS Blaster Coil Fried.
You never emailed me back about your headers. What happened with those gibsons? Did you swap them out or what?

Message: The truck is back in working order, and it runs strong. I am still having multile miss fire errors. I put on a new cap, rotor, Taylor 409 wires(man the ses things are giant), new coil, I removed the PSC01-3 split second box, and it is still there. I just checked the MAP sensor with ign. on and it was at 4.68 volts. I checked it at idle and it was 2.48 volts. Book says this is to high. SHOULD I REPLACE IT? Cheapest I found was $175 at Kragen.
My schedule looks like crap, but may be able to make it.
