went ot the local strip tonight with bryan. met
another r/t too. so anyway 2 SRT4'S show up. one girl
and one guy. the girls had temp tags on it. so i talk
to the guy..really cool. the inside of the car is
pretty sweet i though. he was 2 cars behind me and i
told the stage guy i want him. so he set it up. the
guy was laughing his ass off. he took me off the line
by a half a length (sleeping or just excited?) and at
the 1/4 i was right at his bumper. i had the better et
but my rt let him win. heres the slip and
remember...its a TERRIBLE track

Isn't only 20 mph difference? Anyways, if the track is as terrible as hesays the 60 ft times are possible, trust me. The one track around here has a friday night run what ya brung. Unfortunately they don't prep the track at all. The best 60 ft time I got was 2.0 even. Worst a 2.6!!

its called traction problems i have had the same thing in the past at bad tracks. High MPH and high ET.

at least SOME people know what there talkin about. yea this track is BAD. even the AWD cars were gettin 2.1-2.2's!! u know the track sucks when a 3000gt spins all 4 off the line! lol

Those SRT4s have been tested 14 even in the quarter. It'll outrun a WRX and 350Z stock. Once again Dodge lowered the HP/TQ ratings for insurance purposes. A real import killer.

My dealer here in Melbourne has 3 SRT-4's, so I decided to drive one. It was awesome. I have a 2003 Dakota R/T and think this car will definately give it a run for the money. The styling is excellent. I wish they would make an SRT-8 Dakota with the same type of styling. I especially like the short throw stick, turbo, boost gauge, and aluminum bezels. That car is a serious rice killer for under 20K! I think they just took over the market on high-performance 4 bangers! Way to go DODGE!!!!!!

To go to the site with that video just erase the /download/movieh.wmv and then hit enter. The site has a short preview and two different quality videos, I couldn't get the audio stream to work after he got into the car in the hi-def. video. The mid resolutions' audio works better.
Most mags got the srt-4 into the 14.1s@102, The one mopar mag says 13s would be easy with stickier tires. I was thinking of getting an older 50K mile neon and building my own with a hahn 275hp turbo kit for 13flat @106mph performance. There are alot of aftermarket parts for the previous noen unlike my 93' dakota:(

Yeah, the SRT4 will eat any stock R/T alive considering they run 13.5 in the 1/4 with the right driver. Stock R/T's are 15.3-14.8 1/4. It's really no contest as long as whoever is driving the SRT4 knows it's launch characteristics.

I think your right about the SRT-4 would kill my Dakota R/T in stock configuration. It felt snapier, went up to high RPM's quickly, and had crisper shift feel with the manual, compared to the automatic in my R/T.
The SRT-4 was so much fun to drive, that I could'nt get the smile off my face. I think with a little tweaking, the SRT -4 will be killing 40K -50K sports cars like the Mustang Cobra and Corvette. That will be hillarious to see that those sorry bastards who bought the higher priced sports cars get smoked by a 4 banger Neon!
I am working a deal now to buy an SRT-4 in Bright Silver Metalic to match my Dakota R/T. That way I will have 2 toys and while the R/T is getting some added horsepower I will have something else fun to drive. I will post some pictures when my new car comes in.

I saw a chic at the track with a yellow SRT-4, temp tags and everything. THis was at Orlando Speedworld, she was clicking off 14.0's and 14.1's all night at 99-100 Mph. She would eat a stock and slightly modified R/T for a snack.
