 Subject: Stupid TireRack -- tip for you all

Yesterday I ordered some 275/40/17 Dunlop SP 8000s as a sporty summer tire.
I got a call later that day from TireRack, but I wasn't home. I called them back this morning.
Apparently, these tires are 440 pounds under my maximum gross POTENTIAL weight. They can't sell them to me.
WTF?! You've got to be kidding. Well, I can get some 29" Pirellis for a little bit cheaper. No, I don't want to run 29" tires, they rub like a b!, I want smaller!
I cancelled my order.
I then immediately placed another order for some 275/40/17 SP 9000s for my 2000 Camaro SS.
Any vehicle can be overloaded, but since trucks have this carrying capacity, they expect that people will use every bit of it with thin performance tires. I don't know who in their right mind would do something so foolish.
Anyways, if you're ordering performance tires for your truck, be sure to tell them it's not a Dakota, tell them it's a Camaro, or hell, tell them it's a Vanquish!

I can see thier point from a legality standpoint though... BJ's will not istall a tire size that is not on the car when you drive it in... Tell me that is not bunk...

Aston Martin Vanquish...now thats a car!
thats kinda dumb...they sell 24" tires, ANY person that puts thoes on will be over weight since they will only fit on SUV's and trucks

The removal of the front bumper isn't hard, it depends on the year. Different years have different bracketing for the bumper. For the most part you just need like an 18mm socket and you're set. You might need another person when you put it back on though. You need someone to hold the bumper level when you tighten up the bracket that connects to the frame -- if you remove that piece.
I can see why TireRack does it and there was no talking my way out of it. I just cancelled and bought a set for my Camarslow.

hey guys, i used to work at the tire rack in south bend, in. they had a big prob a few years ago with a lawsuit about selling the wrong tire sizes. i guess a lady drove off after gettin them and they blew or something... seriouslty injured her and killed someone in the other vehicle.. so they'r pretty leary. i bougt some 275/40zr17 kuhmo escta 712's for my buddys dak and origionally they wouldnt sell them to me. had to say it was for me "dads vette" lol... good luck

hey explicit, where did you get you hotchkis from? because truck performance doesnt carry the kit anymore, let me know thanx, also kota how did you go about buying your super? did you just post a message or did someone else post one, i know its a dumb question, but i was just wondering, thanx alot
