Message: Flash just means to add the VIN, mileage, etc. to the pcm. It is incase you get into an accident or something that way the insurance company knows how many miles are on the vehicle and can tell if the odometer has been tampered with. That is a general flash. It is required by law to be done I believe. But I have run Mopar PCMs before and never had them flashed. It will not affect the performance or keep the truck from running
Hope this helps
