I have a 97, RC, 5spd, 5.2, 3.92 geared dakota that has a couple of bolt ons (intake and fresh tune-up). My bud is getting a 03 ram that is RC, 3.92 geared, and it has the 20" crome wheels on it and, "yeah, it's got a hemi". My question is do I have a chance with my little 318 that is a lot lighter??? I personally think that it's going to be about dead even... Thanx for any response!!!!

You never know until you try...but I raced a RC Hemi two weeks ago at the races and he ran a 9.70 to my losing 10.21 (I have a 5.9 2wd Durango). He was stock except for a cut-in flowmaster. So, not knowing how fast your Dak is it should be pretty close. BTW, we raced at a 1/8 mile track. later

For one thing it isn't that much hevier, and you will be smoked! 345hp to your howmuch? A couple bolt ons and he's at 400hp.I wouldn't make any bets.

He's gonna win.I've seen a 15.1 at 91 out of a stock Hemi regular cab.I don't remember what wheels it had though.Anyways, the 20s w/the 275/55/20 tire measures only 28in.

The jury is still out on this one. One of the truck magazines tested a Ram RC Hemi that only pulled 8.0 second 0-60. Does 100 hp cancel out 1000 pounds extra on the Ram? No contest with a '92-'93 RC 5.2 3:92. I had a '92 with 3:55 that did 7.6 sec. 0-60 when stock/new.

I saw a extended cab hemi, 2wd with only a aftermarket exhaust running 15.3.15.4 in the quarter consistantly.....

First off i have a 200 dakota 4x4 4.7 and many modifications i recently test drove a hemi. I was really impressed the torque is ungodly and the five speed tranny gets it up to almost 100 without shifting into 5th yet. Fast truck now all they need to do is cram it a dak. wow

The 97 daks came with a 3.9 rearend. Only the 8 1/4 not the 9 1/4 rearend

BRAD BULL SHI*T I HAVE A 2x4 97 5.2 5spd and have the 3.55, so dont say that they came with the 3.92

The 3.9x where an OPTIONAL gear ratio in all daks from what I can tell. You just have to tell the dealer that's one of the options you want.

first, I didn't think that you could get a 5 spd with the hemi pat if so, sign me up...also his truck right now seems about dead even with mine, but I think his will end up being much faster as soon as it breaks in.
