Subject: Need performance help IP: Logged
Message: I have been going over and over about what to do for performance. Searched and searched. Now I would like your opinions. Was going to go supercharger, but I canned that idea/dream. I want to go N/A. So, I have a 2000 quad cab auto 4x4 3.55 gears and the 360. Already done 180 t-stat, k&n FIPK, plugs, wires, cap, rotor and exaughst. I need to set up my mods so that I don't loose much or any torque down low and want good power to red line. So here is the combo I've been working on,
1. Mopar PCM/PP3(??) (Not sure about power programmer)(currently have death flash)
2. 50mm TB
3. PPH headers, custom Y-pipe
4. 2bbl m-1 or modded beer barrel intake (hughes),depends on low end torque loss.
5. KRC 206x cam. I would really like something pretty radical, but I have to be realistic and that this is a 4x4 and I don't want to run stall.(any more help/info on this cam or others would be great)
6. 3.92 gears later (mostly higway driving right now
7. Later on, heads??
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I know people are always asking what to do, what to do. If marty and/or bernd is out there I would really like there expertise.
Also, with the top five ingredients what to you estimate/guestimate my rear wheel horsepower might be.
Thanks.

Message: Read my other posts on the 206X cam. It has a little "quiver" to it and it would probably not be the cam for a 4x4 especially with 3.55 gears. (I have 3.92's) Don't get me wrong, I love the cam, it's bad to the bone!! You need low end with the 4x4, I would probably stick with a modded kegger and keep the camshaft duration down and lift up. Check with Marty at KRC, he knows his stuff!!

Message: Your list sounds about right if your looking to race the 4x4. But as RED said if you want the low end stick with a modded manifold and maybe have a custom cam ground from crower to get you good low-mid range power.

Message: Thanks for the suggestions. Would the krc 206 cam be a little better or is that still a little overboard. I don't want a race 4x4, but I do want a pretty quick one. I really just want a good all around cam. I read red's comments on the 206x and it does sound just a little to wild for this trucks purpose. Does anyone else have any suggestions or ideas. Thanks
