if you are not carefull it will.

i have 2 friends with vortech's and both of them poped a head gasket. i just read last week on the RT forum that a guy installed one on his truck, and the 4th time he got on it, the gaskets blew.

your best bet is to upgrade the gaskets before you even put the blower on. that way you can make time for the install, instead of blowing them, and having to find time to change them

You have a 50/50 shot at blowing your gaskets, if detonation doesn't get you, time will. No big deal, you will want to upgrade those gaskets later on anyway so you can boost up that psi. The stock head gaskets are very weak compared to aftermarket ones, so if for some reason you do have to change them, you will be set.

Just make sure you retard the timing, use good fuel, proper spark plugs, and you will be fine.

Well, I got away with it for many months, and they wouldnt have blown if it wasnt for me being stupid. I had light detonation off the bat because i had 87 octane in it when i did the install an so it wasnt happy until i went through a mixed tank of 87/91. But with the felpros I couldnt even blow them doing everything wrong. I would change out the stock gaskets because alot of people have blown them Normally aspirated.
