No offense, but I've yet to be beat by a Chevy. I've come up short in races against Lightnings, but now you are talking about a horse of a different color.
The last race I had against a Chevy, was some kid who had a really sharp looking truck, with a catback, a nice wheel & tire combo, and a 5.3. I took him off the line, and pulled several car lenths on him by the time his rig hit the speed limiter.
Later, he caught up with me at a diner, and was surprised that all I had was headers, a reworked TB, an after market exhaust, and a K&N intake.
My truck is a '98 R/T RC.

Wow, a lot of Chevy bashing here! You guys that have an RT and are claming to have outrun 5.3s do you have the same cab/bed configuration? I'm a stickler for weight comparison and stuff. Just want to make sure were not talking RC RTs vs excab, LB 4X4s that weigh more.
I have found an 01 R/T (CC) in the area that will run by buds 5.3. He hasn't run a Dakota with a 5.9 but has raced Rams with 5.9s and has had success running em all. I do have 2 questions to ask,
(1) How do 5.2s fare against 5.3s with my truck config. (5.2L auto CC 4X4 3.92) He wants to run me, just asked last evening.
(2) This question is off the subject but another buddy of mine has a Excab 3/4 SB 4X4 8.1 and wants to run my neighbors Hemi 3/4 CC SB 4X4. How would these two fare? Anyone want to place their bets early?

The only other stock truck a stock RT will lose too is the Lightening... maybe the Harly edition F150(not sure though, I dont know a whole lot about em)
Only GM truck I can think of that was capable of doing anything in the quarter out of the box was the syclone.
