I have a 2.5l RC. I notice i huge difference in performance when the egnine is colder. I live in phoenix whre it is in teh igh 80s almost 90 now and during the day my truck lags real bad, but at night when teh engine is cooler (teh thermo need is abotu halfaw between 130 and 210 degrees, rather then almost on 210 as in during the day) i get much more throttel response. Do yo guy snotice this with biggere eniges, or do i just notice becasue of the lack of power. Also, willan intake just make this effect feel even better, or just a k&n replacement filter to get more air to teh engine?

He's saying his engine runs better when it is cooler. If you are running around 210 during the day, maybe you could switch to a cooler thermostat. A lot of people here with V8's switch to the 180 thermostat. I doubt the intake would help much cuz a lot of them just bring in hot air from the engine compartment.

Your motor is responding to the colder air/fuel charge. All motors react this way when fired up after a cool down. This is why everyone (including me)wants to get their operating temp down.

i'm not talking about getting an intake, the filter just replaces the regular one n the stock airbox, but alloes more air to pass through so the engine will be cooled more.

I think it would be a good idea to replace the stock filter. Flowing more air through the intake will not cool the engine, but it will improve performance just because the engine will be getting more air.

My V-8 reacted the same way when temps would get into the 90's,after relocating the IAT sensor to the air box outlet it eliminated the mushy pedal feel. By relocating the sensor into the airstream the computor adjust to the 90 degree air versus the heat soaked intake manifold
