Subject: Are TB spacers any good? IP: Logged
Message: i was thinking about buying a throttle body spacer for my 1999 Dakota R/T. But before i bought one, i wanted to make sure they r worth buying. I saw one on eBay for $50 and a Poweraid TB spacer for $80. Are these any good? if not, what one should i get? Thanks,
-Matt

Message: They make a cool whistle sound. I bought one for $100 from Helix here in Little Rock, and I thought I noticed a little difference, but I also installed a sweet homemade cold air intake at the same time, so I dont know if the velocity change from the stack helps at all on fuel injection, but I know it helps on carbs. They say it doesnt, but that's them. Hmm

Message: They are garbage. The concept behind them is to make the fuel/air mix more completely. The fuel is not added at the TB so the design is defeated . Dont waste your money on it. Do some research in this site.... they have been talked about a lot.

Message: I'm sure they are pretty useless, but you can always search for some dyno results.

Message: the poweraid ones i think r the best with the best finish their aluminum so they r light and ther website has dyno results. poweraid also has new spacers with threaded ports made for nitrous or sensors, but if you r gonna do that style of nitrous it is better to put the injector as far away from the throttle body and as close to the filter as possible so the nitrous has more time to cool down the air and give a colder charge

check out that site. it has all the info you need on why not to buy and expensive paper weight. regretably, i made the mistake of buying a tb spacer before i read into it. needless to say, it is serving its perpose as a paperweight on my desk right now.
GET IN, SIT DOWN, SHUTUP, AND HOLD ON

Message: Yeah, I never realized what everyone was talking about until I started modding my manifold, and SAW the beer keg design. There is NO way a spacer would help...it would cause more turbulance than anything.
If it ain't broke, fix it til it is.
