Anyone have any tips/tricks you could pass on for a MP2400 torque converter install? Will I have to completely remove the transmission? Anything else I should check/replace while I have it apart? I can't find any instructions anywhere, not even the Haynes shop manual!

too tricky

You don't have to drop the tranny if you would rather pull the motor. It just slips onto a splined shaft. Have you gone to a bigger cam, or much taller tires ? If not, are you sure you want to do this ?

Hmm, I haven't decided if I want to just drop the tranny or pull the engine. I will probably go with dropping the tranny LOL. I have plenty of mods to warrant the 2400 stall, and could probably even go more.

So I just drop the tranny and slip it on. That's it? Will I have to drain the fluid?

Thanks.

Yes, you will have to drain the fluid. Drain it first because if you don't when you take the drive shaft out fluid will come pouring out. The mopar converter is a direct replacement for your stock unit so no mods whatsoever to make it work. Just make sure the converter is seated all the way on the input shaft before you put the transmission back in, I can't remember how far back from the bell housing it is 1 3/4"?. If it is not all the way in The tranny will bolt up but not seat all the way and if you keep tightening the bolts you could ruin you inputshaft/front pump. You will have to take the tranny back out to seat the converter all the way. You may think the converter is seated all the way but chances are it is not, I have changed converters a couple of times on my R/T.
