Subject: under $10 mods for this weekend....

Ey my wife's out of town this weekend so it's just me, my new little peanut nathan and my truck so I was thinking about banging out some cheap mods. So far I'm thinking...

-Relocate my IAT sensor
-Install this 180 tstat thats been sitting here
-Adjust my TPS

Is there any other cheap-o mods that I can bang out? Oh also, I want to get a new coil.. mainly because I've got jba wires, msd6-btm ignition, autolite plugs etc. and still the stock coil. Who has a good deal on the msd blaster coil?

thanks guys!

Figitdotcom, you can also try the KRC timing advance mod. This is especially worthwhile mod if your R/T has been treated to the dread 'death flash'. It involves slotting the mounting lugs on the sensor.

I have a '99 5.2, (no death flash) and that mod alone improved my mileage by at least .5 mpg, and improved low-end torque significantly. It works well in conjunction with IAT relocation.

Make sure that you're using a colder plug (I use the Autolite 3923). Coupled with a 180' tstat, I can run 87 octane fuel with no pinging what so ever, despite the 2-4 extra degrees of initial timing. I would also imagine that this mod might make up for any low-end torque loss incurred by going to an M1 intake, should you decide to go that route, in the future.

Keep a log of fuel consumption, and get some dyno and track time in, to validate any improvements. I'm sure that you'll be pleasantly surprised.

BTW, what’s the IT market like in Delaware? I’m asking because I may be moving down there next year.

pretty decent fubar, .net/c.fusion is pretty hot along with xml/flash mx development. I'm actually switching jobs bro, going to be working in center city philly... DE is nice though, dupont, astra zenica, amazon, cdw, mbna, first usa, citi bank, all of them are either based or have major operations here. The sweet thing is your never more than an hour away to manhattan, philly, jersey etc.. weather sucks though!

Well, the weather can't be any worse then it is here in NJ! The lower property taxes, reasonable realestate prices, and the fact that you're never more then 30-40 minutes from great saltwater fishing (very important to me!), kind of clinches it for me. Delaware, here I come : )
