I WAS messing around with my r/t earlier trying to see if I could install headers. I took off the stock ehaust manifold partially and started the engine, it sounded like a god! I seemed to see blue comustion or fuel or something? is it safe to run with out exhaust manifolds? besides emissions what are some problems i could run into? Thanks.

WOW dont do that man. You will burn up your valves. That blue smoke stuff coming out was FIRE! Its like a blow torch when you do that. hehe if you need headers visit my site www.v8performance.com

Running an engine without exhaust manifolds is a NO NO!!! The exhaust valves get hot, then when you shut the motor off, cold air can get up in there warping the valve. Then it wont seat properly after that. Hope you didnt run it that long. Be prepared.

DAng id better stop doing that! What about running headers open not connected to the y pipe? would that give me the loud sound i am looking for without screwing up my engine?
thanks

Yes it would, but I dont think you would enjoy driving like that. It would be so loud inside the cab you wouldnt even be able to hear yourself think! Good luck though :)
