Subject: Gears for 37" tires!?!?!?!? IP: Logged
Message: I have a 4 door 02 Ram and I just put a 12" lift with 37" tires. I still have the 3.55's in it and it runs like crap. Does anyone know if 4.56 gears would be low enough for that size of tire? Or should I go to 4.88 or higher??

Message: What differentials do you have, I assume it's a 4x4? What trans do you have and do you know the OD ratio. How low you could go really depends on whats available, especially with the front diff. If you have a V10, hemi, or might be running a supercharger might be able to get away with a high 4 set. I do agree with afi360 that 5.13s would be the least gear I would get. If you have a dana 60 front and a dana 80 rear 5.38s are available and would be my first choice (around 2100 rpms at 60 and about 2550 at 70mph depending on trans.)
