Did this setup detract from your truck actually performing as a truck. Hotchkis claims that it won't but i'd like to hear from people who have it.

I'm considering the active suspension as well to reduce the effects of lowering on towing/hauling capacity.

I'd still like to be able to throw furniture, lumber, mulch, cement, etc. in the bed and not worry about it effecting the ride adversely.

On my RT-- I am limited to about 500# in the bed with the Hotchkis setup-- you can run airbags to offset the weight carrying issue, a lot of people do.

I can carry furniture, motorcycles, etc.. as is.

I hall lumber all the time in mine. It does wonderfully. I also halled 500lbs of sand (in bags) and didnt bottom out once. You knew it was there, but it rode fine. I dont tow, as my back bumper is gone. But over all I say yes, it still performs like a truck, but handles like a GM F-body.

Hey Buzz, how come you have the custom mounted shocks and rear sway bar?? Is it because its a durango axle? How difficult was it to custom mount them??

Correct on the Durango axle.. biggest pain was that the leaf spring mounts were about 1/2" too wide per side... cut them off and remounted them.. I thought everything went on pretty easily, but I had a full fab shop to work with... the mounts took about an hour to make, I used the hotchkis sway bar mounts... overall it looks really clean.. plus the mounts are 1000% stronger than stock.. not that it matters...

the rear end is the same. if you find a dak it will bolt right up, a durango has spring mounts that are like 1/2" wider... you can do what I did, cut them off and reweld them in the right place, or take the stock ones, elongate the hole in the center of the mount that the leaf springs bolt sit's in and just have the mount off center a little... If I wasn't already welding and cutting stuff with a plasma torch I prob would have done that. it will work just fine though.
