i hear alot about how the r/t has a bunch of torque and people have tire spin issues when launching the truck, im talking about mostly stock trucks . i have a 2001 cc r/t. only mods are k&n intake and autolite 3923 plugs . my tires are 255/55/17 kumhos. and if i floor it from a stop my tires only spin about 10 feet . i hardley consider that excessive tire spin, is something wrong with my truck , is it not making as much torque as others?

Hey Lew. I just bought an R/T and it is bone stock. It is a RC with 3.92 gears. I am right with you. If I stomp on the truck from a standstill it will spin about 10 feet. I actually found if I bring it up to 1500 and launch I get less spin. I posted on here earlier to see what the trucks run stock because of the way people talk about traction problems. It probably depends on the weather the road type and how good the tires are. Just wanted to let you know your not alone.

Mine did the same thing when it was stock. Supposedly they have something called torque management that retards the timing when it detects wheel spin. Get a Mopar PCM or your computer flashed and roast em.

Wesley sounds like he has it correct.
My truck will boil the RSAs at will. I couldnt imagine what it would do to a set of Kumhos. Those tires are like rocks!!
Ive had both wheels spinning at well over 100mph, but the truck was only going 30mph. Makes for great fun...lol
