Subject: not a good year for me...PLEASE HELP!! IP: Logged
Message: ok...ive had a really crappy year thus far, but my main concern for right now is that i had to drive my truck 1 1/2 mile home at 9 mph...last night noticed a whistling noise coming from under my truck, actually sounded cool...like a blower LOL...i went out this morning, and it got worse and worse and worse...got it home and looked at it, and the pipe that meets the factory y-pipe has a leak in it (where the two fitings meet with a slip-type coupler).. my question is did the obd tell it to gimp home or do i have more serious trouble??? i replaced the valley pan gasket last weekend, ran great...now this?? wtf...what am i doing wrong here?!?! someone PLEASE help me

Message: you have other problems-its hard to tell from what you say its doing.
my first guess is plugged cat.converter.
maybe fuel filter, pump.possible vacuum leak at the intake.
good luck.

Message: my buddies 93 just limped home too, because of the cat. I've heard these cats work fine until the last second and then they plug up tight
goodluck

Message: If your cat is plugged or the substrate has broken free and dislodged in the shell (basically plugging it), then all of your exhaust is trying to escape through that one leak. And if that one leak is making a whistle like a supercharger, that's basically a LOT of hot gasses trying to make it through a hole the diameter of a pencil. A little bit o' backpressure there.... to say the least.
My bet is, if you replace the cat, it will fire right up and you will be able to wing it up to about 5500 on the first rev.
