 Subject: What to do with my tranny?

I have 168K on my 95 V6 (Auto) dakota club cab or what every it is called. the tranny has not been working to hot.. slips alot and last time I did the tranny filter the magnet looked like about 1/2 larher then it was do to all the steel savings.. I am working on turboing it as we type.. I need to get the tranny going before i do any thing els. I plan to Tow alot with it so I was thinking a Converter and a shift kit but should I just But a new tranny?? or should I try to find a shop to rebuild it.. I have had a few diff trannys rebuild and not one realy lasted long... I know it can be done right if a egg head is not working on it but i am not sure I want to risk it... can i get a new/rebuilt one with a good name?? Thanks Matt

How do i find out what Valve Body I need it looks like there is 3 diff ones that I might have... 42/44/46RH what one or how do i find out what i would need to get?

95 V6 should have either the 42RH or 44RH. Either way...valve bodies are the same.

Hey bernd I have a 99 318 ... the trans is about shot. Is there a way to bolt a 360 trans to my 318? I plan to install a 408 in about 6 months and I would hate to have buy another trans with the 408.
