Message: This is a simple yes or no question.
If I were to put a K&N intake kit on my 03 dakota, would it void the warranty?

Message: Simple answer...no. The dealer would have to prove that the K&N was the direct cause of the problem for them to not cover the problem under the warranty.
I put on a 360 AirIntakez filter and I was a little worried about it. But I just had to take mine in to fix a clock spring. We ended up talking about the filter cause he was interested in it.

Message: No it should not and it could be persued that the dealer would have to prove it was the cause of any failure but it it is really goung to depend on who looks at it. Some will flag it and others will not. With that said if you are worried or don't want any hassle, the stock air assembly is easy enough to put back. Spend a few minutes if you have to go to the dealer and put the stock unit back on.

So the answer is no but be ready to defend or make the dealer prove what he says if they fight you on it, and some will...

Message: Short of disassembly of the motor or transmission...there is NO way bolt on mods will void a warranty unless they can be proven to have caused the failure. For example, if a Supercharger spun a rod or holed a piston.
Tell your dealer this: Magnusson Moss.
