Message: It doesn't look like NitrousSteves, may not work AS good, but I'll bet it comes awful close.
As you can see, the rubber flap is removed, and I keep the hooter air from the engine compartment out with this insulated 'house for sale' sign. Then goes to a K&N drop in, to a PVC (no accordian tube), to a sweeping bend 'fernco' rubber fitting, clamped to the TB.
Sounds and works great-it's part of the reason I get great gas mileage, and 'true cold air' into the intake at ALL times, driving, or not moving.

Message: Todd,
Hmmm...I'm not sure what when wrong with the pic posting. The only thing I can think of is to make sure of your spacing between the tags
make sure it's like this...
(** replace the [ and ]'s with < and > respectively **)
(** ^ represents a 'space' **)
[img^src="locatition"^width="400"^height="300"/]
You've got the location correct. So the only thing I can think of is that you've got the spaceing wrong. But we'll get you going come hell or high water.

Message: I like the idea, but the execution needs some tweaking! I don't even like bugs on the front of my truck, much less an open house sign in the engine bay.
But hey, you're trying something new so more power to you!

Holy Link batman!
sorry about that, this looks like what todd was going for.
360 makes an after market version called the kool shot.
IMO I would leave the nozzle on the air box that bulls air from the baffle chamber.
the heat shield looks like a great idea!
Can you notice any difference with or without the nozzle? curiouse.

Message: I left the factory air box in place, replaced the paper filter with a K&N, removed the inlet snorkle, and replaced it with 3" flex inlet hose from the parts store, cut a matching size hole in the rubber shield along side the radiator that lines up with the lower opening in my grill. I then bought some reflective insulated sheet and high temp tape from Summit Racing and insulated the upper and lower halves of my air box, I did them seperate to access the airfilter, I insulated the box because is sits so close to the exhaust on that side. I left the flex on the outlet of the box because of engine movement. I do not have any dyno results but I feel that the engine is able to rev quicker, I was able to get up to 22 mpg until I started with other mods like 180 stat, relocated IAT and mopar controller.

Message: I've gone with and without the snorkel with my homebrew intake tube. Honestly, doubt if I really noticed the difference.
It still pulls air from the fender well, and from beside the rad., I just walled off the othe side and bottom.
I had a flex tube on mine for awhile, not now, but it's a good idea.
For low, low $, I get tue cooler air, all the time, and thru a K&N.
